# Daily races

The cap on how many races a wallet can play in a rolling day, what counts against it, and what lifts it.

Every wallet has a daily allowance: a cap on how many races it can **play** in a rolling window. It counts seating a duck, not creating a race.

## What counts against your allowance

| What you do | Uses one of your daily races |
| ---------------------------------- | ---------------------------- |
| Create a race and join it yourself | Yes |
| Create a sponsored race            | No                           |
| Host a race without joining it | No |
| Join anyone's race                 | Yes                          |
| Offer a rematch                    | Yes                          |
| Accept a rematch                   | Yes                          |

So hosts and sponsors are not limited: run races for your community without playing and you can keep going all day. The only brake is the **30 second cooldown between creations** from one wallet.

## Your limit depends on your Runner NFT

A Runner raises the cap, and ownership is checked at the moment you play:

* Buy one today and the higher limit applies immediately.
* Sell it and your next race is back on the standard limit.
* Any Runner counts, not the one you used yesterday.

The limits: **50 races a day** without a Runner, **500** with one. Verification changes nothing here; the Runner is the only thing that lifts it.

{% hint style="info" %}
**There is nothing to switch on.** The app reads your connected wallet when you join or rematch and uses the Runner it finds there, so holding one is the whole of it. Play from a wallet with no Runner in it and the race still goes through, on the standard limit.
{% endhint %}

## When your day resets

Not at midnight. Your window opens on your first race and runs **24 hours** from there, which makes it a rolling day: first race at 3pm, and your allowance is whole again at 3pm tomorrow.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Nothing in the app announces the window.** There is no counter on your player page, and no start or end time anywhere, so 24 hours from your first race is the figure to keep. The one reminder lives in the join screen, and only once you are down to 3 races or fewer: it says how many are left and when they come back.
{% endhint %}

## FAQ

<details>

<summary>Why did my remaining races drop by two after one rematch?</summary>

It did not. Offering used one of yours, accepting used one of your opponent's. If you also played a fresh race in between, that was your second. Offering and accepting cost one each, per player.

</details>

<details>

<summary>I bought a Runner. Why does my limit look the same?</summary>

It updates when you next play. If it still looks wrong after that, check the Runner is in the wallet you are connected with, since that is the only one the app reads.
